Our Vision
Advancing Christ's Kingdom to Every Hill & Hollow.

Every kingdom is marked by its ruler, its people, and its place. At Rowan Community Church, we are advancing a kingdom ruled by Jesus—God’s promised King, who has been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Jesus has accomplished everything necessary to rescue us from the kingdom of darkness, and by His Spirit, He applies this saving work to transform us into citizens of the kingdom of heaven. This kingdom is not of this world, but it is present wherever hearts have submitted to His reign. As we proclaim the gospel of the kingdom and seek to live under God’s rule, we long to see Christ’s kingdom advance—through every hill and hollow of Kentucky, across Appalachia, and to the ends of the earth.

Our Values
As citizen's of Christ's Kingdom we are committed to. . .
The Word of God

The Bible is God’s Word revealed to us. It tells us who God is, what He is like, who we are, and what He requires of us. In a world that is not our home, the Bible is our lamp and guide—shining light on the path of faith. It is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, equipping us for every good work.
(Psalm 19:7; 119:105; Matthew 4:4; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Timothy 3:16–17)

One Another

As citizens of Christ’s Kingdom, we’ve been adopted into a new spiritual family. God calls us to live in unity and peace with one another; to confess our sins, rebuke and admonish, forgive, carry one another’s burdens, and serve one another in love. In doing this, we bear witness to the world that we are His disciples.
(Psalm 133:1; Mark 3:35; John 13:34–35; Romans 12:9–18; Galatians 6:2; Colossians 3:13; James 5:16)

Expectant Prayer

Jesus taught us that God is a good Father who delights to give good gifts to His children. He instructed His followers to pray persistently and confidently, knowing the Father will give what is best. So we cast our cares on Him, pray for His Kingdom to come, and expect Him to answer—knowing He is able to do far more than we ask or imagine.
(Psalm 55:1–2; Matthew 6:9–11; 7:11; Luke 18:1–8; Ephesians 3:20–21; 1 Peter 5:7)

Bearing Good Fruit & Being Pruned

We have been united with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. As Jesus said, He is the vine and we are the branches. Through our union with Him, we bear good fruit. As Kingdom citizens, we commit to abiding in Christ, obeying His commands, and actively putting sin to death. And we welcome God’s loving discipline—trusting that, like a wise vinedresser, He prunes us to make us even more fruitful and holy.
(Matthew 7:17–18; John 15:1–17; Romans 6:5–11; Hebrews 12:6–11)

Laboring For The Harvest

Jesus commissioned His people to proclaim the gospel to the ends of the earth—making disciples of all nations and teaching them to obey everything He has commanded. Though the harvest is plentiful and the laborers are few, we are committed to the work: sowing gospel seeds through our words and deeds, calling people to repent and believe, and praying that the Lord would raise up and send more laborers into His harvest field, confident that His barn will be filled.
(Matthew 9:35–38; 28:16–20; Acts 1:8)
