 Psalm 75

We give thanks to you, O God;
    we give thanks, for your name is near.
We recount your wondrous deeds.
“At the set time that I appoint
I will judge with equity.
When the earth totters, and all its inhabitants,
    it is I who keep steady its pillars. Selah
I say to the boastful, ‘Do not boast,’
    and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horn;
do not lift up your horn on high,
    or speak with haughty neck.’”
For not from the east or from the west
    and not from the wilderness comes lifting up,
but it is God who executes judgment,
    putting down one and lifting up another.
For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup
    with foaming wine, well mixed,
and he pours out from it,
    and all the wicked of the earth
    shall drain it down to the dregs.
But I will declare it forever;
    I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
All the horns of the wicked I will cut off,
    but the horns of the righteous shall be lifted up.

I personally have been serving as Immanuel’s Mission pastor & Immanuel Network Director since 2016. Thank you for your continued prayers and partnership with us in the Gospel. Our prayer needs are:

 

  • Our Summer outreach includes two upcoming ministries. In June, we will engage our community in a 4-day children's camp called 4th Street Camp. In July, we have a 4-day youth event focused on engaging immigrant communities in Louisville. 
  • Pray for our church’s ongoing unity.  Things are going well, but Satan seems to always be seeking someone to devour.
  • Pray for an upcoming women’s event that is happening on June 7-8th.  There are over 100 women already registered.  Pray that the Lord uses this gathering to strengthen our church as He works in and through women.

Because of the uniqueness of their history and culture, Yiddish-speaking Jews have a strong sense of identity. Persecution of and discrimination against the Jews have been the historical reasons for their migrations and settlements in other parts of the world.

The Jews of Estonia are trying to maintain their Jewish traditions. They are opening Jewish schools and promoting Judaic studies in universities. Many Jews seem interested in learning more about their history and identity. Perhaps this can be a segue to the gospel.
