Teach me, O Lord, the way of your statutes;
and I will keep it to the end.
Give me understanding, that I may keep your law
and observe it with my whole heart.
Lead me in the path of your commandments,
for I delight in it.
Incline my heart to your testimonies,
and not to selfish gain!
Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things;
and give me life in your ways.
Confirm to your servant your promise,
that you may be feared.
Turn away the reproach that I dread,
for your rules are good.
Behold, I long for your precepts;
in your righteousness give me life!

Khatri people are extremely gifted and productive people. They work in a wide range of jobs. Most are from Punjab, a region that straddles eastern Pakistan and northwestern India, and many now live in Delhi.
Khatri are mainly Hindu. They worship all the Hindu gods and their ancestors. Their main festivals are the same ones that are celebrated by the other Hindus. Brahmin priests perform the rituals related to births, marriages, and deaths. The deceased are cremated, and the ashes are immersed in a river, with the Ganges at Haridwar being the favorite. Young children are buried.
Khatri people need liberation from traditions that hinder receiving the Savior who died in their place. Most of their elders view what Christ-bearers bring them as a threat to their traditions and culture; therefore, these gatekeepers almost always reject the gospel. So as long as they view the Church as a foreign threat, they will not give Jesus the chance to transform their communities.
Pray for Lord Jesus to tear down obstacles that keep Khatri people from trusting in him for eternal life. Pray that these gifted people will see their need for the only sin-bearer. Pray for God's Holy Spirit to move among the Khatri people.
N, C, and their children landed back in their city on 6/23 after completing a few months of furlough in the US & Canada. They have spent the past week settling in, overcoming jet lag, and fighting some minor illnesses.
Praise the Lord! A long-term visa option they had been praying for seems to be moving forward, as the appropriate funds have come in.
Are there people you are have shared the gospel with recently? Let us pray for those seeds to take root.
Are there people you are are seeking to engage with the gospel? Let us pray for opportunity, boldness, and the Lord to save.
Are you burdened by anything in our community? Let us take it to the Lord.
In what other ways can we pray for Christ’s kingdom to advance in our region?
