Joshua grew up on the outskirts of Lexington, KY, and moved to Louisville in 2012 to attend Boyce College & Southern Seminary. He began to attend Immanuel Baptist Church in 2014 and served in various capacities as a Pastoral Assistant, GCG Leader, Deacon, and other roles. He ended his time at Immanuel by serving as an Elder and Church Planting Resident from 2022-2023 before being sent to Morehead - with other families - to establish Rowan Community Church.Joshua was formally installed as the Pastor of RCC on October 29, 2023, after 11 saints covenanted together to form the first membership of Rowan Community Church.
As sole staff pastor, Joshua oversees the administrative aspects of church life, utilizing the gifts of her members to execute her goals, preforms the majority of the preaching, regular counseling, and along with the other pastor(s) Chris might give to this church strives to "shepherd the flock of God" entrusted into their care
Joshua has been married to Lydia since July 2016 and they have 5 children: Abner, Oren, Ira, Miriam, and Chavala. In their free time, they are avid readers, aspiring homesteaders, and makers and eaters of good food.
Brendan was affirmed and installed as a biblically-qualified man to serve as Pastor of RCC in July of 2025 by her members. As a non-staff pastor he holds a full time job at Sunrise Children's Services and willings gives his time to engage in counseling, preaching when able, discipleship, and works alongside the other pastor(s) of RCC to give vision, provide leadership, care for the church, and be an example to the flock entrusted to their care.
